Ladies and gents, we have our keys! Project Catford is a go.
We've hit the ground running, clearing the space and getting everything prepped for the building re-vamp to come.
Interestingly, Catford is actually no stranger to the film industry; back in the early 1900s, one of Britain's main film studios was based in the area. Catford Studios (or Windsor Studios) was started in 1914 and produced a number of films including 'The Man Who Bought London' and 'Tom Brown's Schooldays'.
After the First World War, the studio was bought out and ensuing financial problems saw it close down by 1922.
We're bringing film back to Catford - we'll even have have a roof with no holes in it soon.
